Abstract

|
Objective: This study aims to provide the ground for introduction and vitalization of home rehabilitation service in public long-term care insurance
Methods: We reviewed that Korea public long-term care insurance, definition and problem of home-based rehabilitation and a case of home-based rehabilitation in advanced nations through a study of literature, which is a basis that offers introduction and vitalization of home-based rehabilitation.
Results: Long-term Care Insurance for the Aged presents Long-term Care Insurance is used 79.3% at Sep. 2010. Respectively, Nursing facility and home-based service facility are increased at 171/%, 263% in 2008 when compared in 2007. Home-in visitation care and daycare is very common among Home-care service. The money that is used for welcare product is increased when compared previous year, that is One thousand Two hundred ninty million wons. However, home-based rehabilitation service(Occupational and physical therapy) that facilitates physical capability and recovery and helps maximize Activity Daily Life ability is not included in Home-in pay item.
Conclusion: Home rehabilitation service is necessary for patients of chronic disease and a increasing number of older-aged people. It is also provided to not-included people in-Long-term Care Insurance for the Aged for education of welcare product use, rehabilitation staff and a kind of service increases to maximize activity daily life ability, And for this, we should review thoroughly a case of Home rehabilitation service in developed country.
